Legal status

PMD Act Article 14 requires product approval before a medicine is marketed, and unapproved medicines may not be sold or advertised. Personal imports above MHLW's quantity limits need an import confirmation certificate (輸入確認証), which replaced Yakkan Shoumei on 1 September 2020, and the application includes a doctor's prescription or instructions. What about institutional Japanese researchers?
